April is Child Abuse Prevention Month: Join us, Follow us, Help us!
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and while we are continuing to do our daily work to heal abused children in our county, we are also busy out in the community and online. We ask you to use this month to learn more about the work we do, co
me out and support us, and take the opportunity to let your friends and family know about us. Here is a sampling of what's coming up:
- Throughout the month on Facebook and Instagram we will be sharing a story with you: "Aaron's" story. Each day we will tell you a little bit about Aaron's experience as he embarks on his journey toward healing. Through his eyes you will learn about the impact the abuse has on him, as well as the treatment he receives during his visits to The Tree House Child Advocacy Center.
- On April 2nd, at 9:30 am, the County Council will be recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. Watch for us as Councilmember Katz reads the proclamation and highlights the work we do at The Tree House.
- We have another tour coming up on April 8th. Sign up here. You will find it impactful and enlightening.
- We have some great events coming up to benefit The Tree House. We thank our community partners, Shake Shack and The Tower Companies, for holding them for us!

Will YOU Join us at Montgomery County's Sweetest Ride?
The Tree House Tour de Cookie is an exciting, fun-filled, and delicious bike ride from one cookie stand to the next. Choose among four different routes, including a scenic NEW Extended Short route, with distances ranging from 12 to 43 miles. The aim of the event is to raise awareness of child abuse prevention and promote the free services offered by The Tree House Child Advocacy Center, services that provide hope and healing to sexually abused, physically abused and neglected children. All proceeds of the Tree House Tour de Cookie benefit The Tree House CAC, enabling us to better serve our clients. It is a wonderful occasion during which individuals, families, and groups can enjoy a day of fun, festivities, philanthropy, and COOKIES!
